Obituary Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Rena Lalonde Woodson will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Rena Lalonde Woodson. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at a later date in the St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Rev. Father Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services. Mrs. Rena was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012, in the Prompt Succor Nursing Home at the age of 89. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. As a pastime, she loved to play Bingo. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two sons, David Woodson, Sr. and wife, Jessica of Opelousas and Billy Dupre and wife, Sheila of Opelousas two daughters, Barbara Latiolais and husband, Arthur of Lawtell and Gayle Thibodeaux and husband, Joseph of Opelousas one brother, Arthur Toby Lalonde and wife, Winnie of Opelousas one sister, Vivian Thibodeaux and husband, Ishrael of Opelousas one brotherinlaw, Charles Ryder of Opelousas 11 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren, and 3 greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Lalonde and Mary Darby Lalonde her husband, Elie Woodson brothers, Walter Lalonde and wife, Rita and Leon Lalonde and wife, Theresa sister, Ella Nora Ryder grandchildren, Jonathan Buff Thibodeaux and Steven Paul Thibodeaux and three greatgrandchildren, Collette Woodson, Nicollette Woodson, and Victoria Thibodeaux. Pallbearers will be David Woodson, Jr., Bruce Anthony Tony Woodson, Johnny Woodson, Cody Woodson, Kevin Latiolais, John Shad Latiolais, Tuddy Thibodeaux, and Chad Dupre. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kaleb Matte. Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
