Triumph Missionary Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Bernice Rideaux, 77, who entered eternal rest, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Corey Freeman will officiate the service. Ms. Rideaux is survived by her companion, Arthur Ryan of Lafayette, LA; a son, Raynard Rideaux of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Ironice Rideaux and Aline Rideaux both of Opelousas, LA; a brother, Eujames Pelican, Sr. of Opelousas, LA; a sister, Florida Antoine of Opelousas, LA; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ms. Rideaux was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie Pelican, Sr. & Grace Johnson; former husband, Iron Rideaux; a great grandson, Taylor Antonio Rideaux; siblings, Edell Pelican, Rose Rubin, Aaron Pelican, Freddie Pelican, Sr., Evelyn Pelican, Carolyn Pelican, Wilma Bryant and Annie Mae Colston; paternal grandparents, Idell & Turnise Pelican and maternal grandparents, Martin & Anne Benjamin. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home.
