Obituary
Otis Anthony Semien passed away on June 22, 2023 at his residence in Raywood, Texas.  He was a faithful servant in the church, serving as an organist and psalmist at both Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raywood/Liberty, TX and Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames/Liberty, TX.

He was born on December 24, 1956 to the Late Joseph E. Semien of Eunice, Louisiana and Alma Lena Cantania Semien of Liberty, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above, his parental grandparents Anna Martina Guillory Simien and Joseph H. Simien; his maternal grandparents Margarito Cantania and Edna Meloncon Cantania; and his brothers, Joseph Semien, Michael Semien and John Semien.

He is survived by his two sisters Edna Colmenero Semien and Mary Rita Semien, nieces and nephews (including great), his aunt, Shirley Simien Jones; his uncle Wilson Semien; his church family; and a host of family and friends.

All who knew Otis, knew he loved singing the psalms and hymns. It is written in the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 5, “To sing to God, it is to him and about him that we sing.” And in The Old Testament, it is written “ Sing to the Lord.”  Also, Saint Augustine was known to say “Those who sing, prays twice.”   We all know Otis sang to the Lord and he did it from his heart and mind.  Now, he shall continue to sing for the Lord with the angelic voices from Heaven.

With sincere hearts,
The Family
